- Q: Which type of candle is the safest to use?
- A: Any type of candle is dangerous when not used appropriately. However, jar candles are thought of as the safest type of candle, due to their design. These candles are molded in a jar that comes with a lid. Most people put the lid back on when they are done using it. This process smolders the fire by containing the heat and putting out the flame. It is impossible for a candle with a lid on to relight.
- Q: Are candles safe to use in dorm rooms?
- A: Most college dorms do not allow co-eds to burn candles. However, if you still desire candlelight there are safe alternatives. Some alternatives include bulb-lit decorative votive's, flameless candles and creative lampshades.
- Q: Are soy candles safer than regular candles?
- A: Soy candles are made of more natural materials than regular candles. Whether they are safer or not is debatable. According to some experts the soy candles burn out quicker than a regular candle.
- Q: Can certain scents cause health issues?
- A: Most candle scents are harmless, but some people do find that they have a sensitivity to the smell of certain scents. If the user finds that they cannot tolerate the smell of certain scents, they should discontinue the use of that particular candle.
