How to Make a Candle Look Like a Graham Cracker

Many people across the world collect candles. They enjoy the quaintness of candles resembling items from childhood, whether it is a toy or foods that remind them of their past. Graham cracker candles are easy and fun to make, and are perfect gifts for those who enjoy sweets as well as novelty items.

  1. First: Purchase wax

Melting wax for candles is found at almost any craft or retail store in bulk. Cut the amount of wax necessary for the mold, and chop the portion into finer pieces for melting. Using a double boiler, melt the wax down into a consistency that is easy to pour.

  2. Second: Buy coloring

At craft stores, there are dyes made just for wax. Purchase a tan color (as close to the color of a graham cracker that you can find). A lighter shade is desirable, as you can always add more dye to increase the intensity of the color. Add the dye to the melted wax and stir vigorously until it is completely blended.

  3. Third: Set the wicks

Add the wicks into the mold and ensure that they are stable and study when you pour the wax.

  4. Fourth: Pour the wax

Pour the wax into the mold gently, so as to not knock the wicks over. Molds are normally found at novelty stores, as well as on the internet.

  5. Fifth: Allow the candles to set

Allowing the candles to set (harden) for several hours ensures your graham cracker candle is ready for display, burning or gift-giving, depending on your preference.
