How to Make Candles That Look Like Dilly Bars

Custom made candles are great for anyone who enjoys crafts. Collectors of sweet memorabilia thoroughly enjoy a gift made of wax to represent the beloved Dilly Bar. Many people enjoy the process of making candles, and it truly is not a difficult process. However, it does require patience and attention to detail. These two things are essential to create the perfect Dilly Bar candle!
First: Figure out how much wax is needed
Wax is found in bulk at most craft stores. Cut wax into portions with a sharp utility or steak knife, depending on what is available. After the portion is cut off of the block, chop the wax into smaller pieces for faster and more even melting. Melting the wax down is often a tricky process. For best results, double boilers are recommended for a smooth melt.
Second: Select the colors
Dilly bars are a dark-chocolate coated ice cream on a stick. It has the appearance of soft serve ice cream swirled on a stick and coated in a chocolate hard shell. Two colors are needed: a dark brown, and a lighter brown to simulate the color of the ice cream stick. Drop the colors into each pot and stir vigorously until the wax turns the correct shade.
Third: Insert the wick
Set the wicks into the mold in one or more locations, depending on where the candle is intended to burn.
Fourth: Pour
Pour the wax into the Dilly Bar mold. Molds are available at craft and novelty stores, as well as online.
Fifth: Set
Allow the candle to set for several hours. When the wax hardens, and you have a Dilly Bar candle, ready to use or display.
