Unity Candles

The unity candle is a recent addition to the traditional wedding ceremony. The unity candle is placed between two taper candles for the bride and groom to light after they say their vows. The type of candle is variable; use a traditional candle, soy candle or any scented candle, such as beach scented candles. The taper candles are lit by a family member of the bride and groom, such as the mother or father. After the bride and groom say their vows, they use the two taper candles to light the unity candle. This symbolizes the union of two individuals who love each other and how they become one in commitment.
